Social – Volunteering at The Avenue Nature Reserve, Sunday 28th June: Organiser: Lynn Richards

Sunday, March 15th, 2009
June 28, 2009
9:00 amto1:00 pm

On the last Sunday of every month we are invited to do some volunteer work at the Avenue Nature Reserve, just off the A61 south of Chesterfield. The Avenue is an exciting and ambitious project which involves transforming 98 hectares of heavily polluted industrial land back into a place that can be used and enjoyed by both people and wildlife.

If you are interested in helping, please meet at the Avenue Visitors Centre between 9 and 9.30 am. You will need warm clothing, sensible footwear, a few snacks and a drink.

For further information, please contact Lynn Richards 07973 636476 or email membership@chesterfieldyoungramblers.co.uk

Directions to the Avenue: Head south out of Chesterfield on the A61, go past the Hunloke Arms Pub on your left. Keep going and at the next T junction turn left into Mill Lane. Follow this road along, it will eventually become a single track, keep going and the visitors centre car park is a few hundred metres on the left.
